I try to use both in my websites. Mostly longer articles for the "meat" and a sprinkling of lists and polls to give some icing for people. I personally think that blog posts should not get too long. I started writing TamsPalm on my PDA(I live on my Palm Tungsten T3), and thus always was rather short when bringing my point along.
