I came across the same discussion on JoS and immediately plunked down for two sets. I've shopped around, and $29.95 for a complete set of royalty-free icons is just about unbeatable. For me, it was a case of not wanting to "spend a buck to save a penny."

If I really want to keep my hand in things artistically, I'll spend my icon-designing time on the desktop icon. That's one that should be unique anyway, so it makes more sense to labour on it than on any other icon.
