Outstanding post Patio (swombat just keyed me in to your blog).

You're talking about a different type of hacker, one who focuses on business channels and large interactive systems for consumption. I know very few people who think like this (right or wrong you're experimenting in the right space). I don't even think about products this way, but I'd like to start.

It's easy to get bogged down in the essential technical details or the UI design but the critical evaluation that goes with product planning comes before everything else. But it only goes so far.

It's naive on my part, but doesn't much of the strategy for market growth happen after some initial success which is discovered by trying alphas that appeal to their creators? Founders are part social scientists along with part everything else. Who was it that suggested more anthropologists in startups recently (Charlie O'Donnell)

my first thought upon reading your post was that -- this is an example of creative ideas from applying "a function ... to the wrong type of argument" (Paul Graham, "idea for startups"). you are applying the practices from product development (iteration, mvp, hacking) to sales. in a similar vein, the same practices can be applied to hiring, getting investors, forming partnerships with other companies.
